Who these terms are between

They cover this website and the catering OH! provides across Ottawa, Ontario. They start applying to you when you accept a quote from us. Reading the site places you under nothing.

Quotes and prices

Styled tables start at $42 per guest, plus applicable taxes, and the working range runs $42–$65 per guest, with the top of it being tables that replace a meal. The event minimum is $600 before delivery and taxes. Our strongest range is roughly 12 to 50 guests.

• Every quote separates food, styling and delivery, so each part of the number is visible.
• The figures on this site describe today’s starting point. Your own numbers are fixed by the quote we issue you, and they hold for that event.
• Prices are stated plus applicable taxes. Applicable taxes appear as a separate line on your quote.
• Adding guests, formats or styling after the quote is issued changes the price, and we send a revised quote before the change goes ahead.

Holding the date

A 30% deposit and a signed quote hold your date, and the balance is due 3 days before the event. Until both the deposit and the signed quote reach us, the date stays open to whoever books it first.

Final guest count

Your final guest count is due 7 days before the event. After that the shopping list is set: numbers can still rise where we can source what is needed, and the count stops coming down.

Delivery, setup and the room

Food is prepared in a rented commercial kitchen in Ottawa, and we deliver and build the table in your space. Delivery and on-site styling are $45 within 25 km of that kitchen. Past that radius the charge is quoted for your address before you book.

• The table surface, the room and access to it come from you or your venue. Tell us about stairs, elevators, parking and load-in time while we are still planning.
• We agree a setup window with you. Access that starts late shortens the setup rather than the guest list, and we build what the remaining time allows.
• Serving pieces, boards, stands and styling elements we bring stay ours. Anything lost or damaged beyond ordinary use is charged at replacement cost.

Moving a date, cancelling an event

• Move or cancel more than 14 days out and the deposit is refunded. Inside that window it is retained, because it covers sourcing already committed.
• A date change is subject to what is free in the calendar, and we hold your deposit against the new date once we agree one.
• Where OH! has to cancel — illness, a kitchen failure, a road closed by weather — you receive a full refund of everything you have paid, and we help you find another caterer where time allows.

Allergens and dietary needs

Share dietary preferences and allergy information when you enquire. We plan suitable choices and label the table clearly. For severe or life-threatening allergies we talk through cross-contact before you book, and we cannot guarantee allergen-free preparation on a shared table.

Once the table is set and we leave, food safety passes to the host. Health Canada advises that perishable food left at room temperature for more than two hours be thrown out, and leftovers you keep are at your own risk.

What we make no promise about

Being straight about the edges is cheaper for everyone than discovering them later.

• Allergen-free preparation. A shared table and a shared kitchen make cross-contact possible, and we cannot guarantee its absence.
• Insurance certificates. OH! carries no commercial general liability policy of its own today, so a venue-specific certificate of insurance is unavailable. Venues that require one should hear this from us before you book.
• Imagery on this site. It is generated for the brand to show the style we work in, and it pictures no event OH! has catered. Your table is composed for your room, guest count and season.
• Availability of any date until a deposit and a signed quote are with us.
• The guides and articles in our journal. They are general hosting advice, written to be useful and offered without warranty.

Photographs of your table

We photograph the tables we build, for our own portfolio. Anything that shows your guests, identifies your home or names you is published only with your say-so, and we ask first. Tell us at any point that a table stays private and it stays private.

The text, imagery and design here belong to OH! Catering. The pages describe our service and give planning advice; a contract exists once we issue a quote and you accept it. Personal information you send through the form is handled the way our privacy page describes.

Law, and reaching a person

These terms are read under the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 stand whatever this page says.
