A build here opens with an unload window and a vehicle that then goes somewhere else. Two questions settle it: where is the nearest legal spot that a loaded trolley can reach, and is there a driveway or a lane behind the property that can hold a vehicle for ninety minutes. Metered stretches along Richmond Road have posted maximums that are shorter than a full grazing build, so we unload, move, and come back on foot. Where a host can offer a driveway for the duration, say so at enquiry stage — it is worth more to the schedule than any other detail on the form.

Infills, renovations and narrow rooms

The near west end rebuilt itself house by house, which produced tall infills on narrow lots beside century homes with their original room widths. Dining rooms here are frequently narrower than anything in Kanata or Barrhaven, and the practical surface is often a kitchen island or a console against a wall. A narrower table is composed upward, in tiers, so the display fills the eye vertically where it cannot spread. Winter on Richmond Road

From December to March the near west end presents the hardest carry in the city: a snow-route kerb banked high, a metered spot that may be half-buried, and a salted sidewalk that is unkind to linens and to anything set down on it. Builds are scheduled with extra minutes for the carry, everything travels covered, and the vehicle is unloaded in one deliberate run. A cleared path from kerb to door, where the host controls it, makes the difference.

Hintonburg, Wellington West and Mechanicsville

The same corridor continues east into studios, small galleries and hire-by-the-evening rooms above shops. Those spaces are excellent for a standing event and they share one constraint: the only way in is a staircase, with no elevator and often a tight turn on the landing.
